What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), HA is best known for its properties in lip and dermal fillers, where it is used to give volume, contour or hydration. Profhilo works in a different way to normal fillers, and due to its structure it allows it to travel within the skin, to boost hydration, smooth and remodel the skin giving a more youthful appearance. It is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatment’s currently on offer.

How is Profhilo administrated?

It is injected just under the skin, using very fine needles, in ten pre-determined points; five injection points on each side of the face to give optimum results. The fine needle means the treatment is relatively painless and feeling like a small scratch.

The Profhilo treatment which consists of two sessions, one month apart, this is to ensure maximum results are achieved. If signs of ageing are significant an additional treatment may be recommended four to eight weeks later. We also recommend, after approximately six months, an maintenance treatment to prolong the effect.

What are the effects of Profhilo?

The effects of Profhilo are subtle but immediate; the skin will look smoother and brighter immediately following your first treatment. As time passes these effects are enhanced and can last up to six months, depending skin type and lifestyle. 

Profhilo Injection Points

 

Profhilo has a comprehensive range of injections points with 10 injections administered in total, five on each side of the face. This technique allows us to focus the hyaluronic acid treatment where the skin appears the most relaxed and aged. By concentrating a defined volume of Profhilo in the most receptive points allows the treatment to diffuse through the available spaces, creating a natural and lasting and refreshed look.

Profhilo is injected into the following areas on both sides of the face:

• Zygomatic Protrusion (cheekbone)

• Nasal Base (in line with the nostril)   

• Tragus (in line with the ear lobe)

• Chin       

• Mandibular Angle (jawline)

As each face is unique the location of the points may vary very slightly, based on your face’s structure, to ensure the best results possible are achieved. Despite being a full face injectable treatment it is one of the anatomically safest available as it avoids large vessels and nerves. 

 

Over the next four weeks the Profhilo treatment works to boost elastin and collagen production, effectively remodelling the skin and giving it a plumper, smoother and firmer appearance.

 

For optimum results Profhilo requires two treatments, Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance produced in our body and found in our skin, joints and connective tissue, binds moisture in the skin and aids collagen production. With age hyaluronic acid production slows and the skin looks duller and dehydrated, with fine lines and wrinkles forming. Hyaluronic acid is best known as a ‘filler’ and is usually used to give volume to lips or to contour other areas of the face.

 

Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available for an aesthetic treatment. And due to the development process which thermally bonds, rather than chemically, the treatment acts as a high performance hydrator and not a filler. Its gel like consistency distributes smoothly and evenly without the formation of any lumps – a potential risk with traditional fillers.

 

This means it can be used on areas which are difficult to treat with traditional fillers, such as the neck and forehead. Profhilo’s structure also allows it t o flow over an extended area to boost hydration and smooth or ‘remodel’ the skin.

 

Typically clients are aged 30-55 and want to look younger and for their skin on their face, neck, hand, or arms to look better.

Side effects (e.g., redness, pain, swelling) are mild and temporary. From a safety perspective, it is made from ultra-pure, natural hyaluronic acid and stabilised without chemical cross-linking agents; this reduces the risk of adverse reactions, so the downtime is minimal.

What should I do after my Profhilo treatment?

​

 

• No makeup for 6 hours after treatment 

• Refrain from any facials for two weeks

• No heavy exercise for 24 hours after treatment

• Be gentle when washing the filled area of your face, neck, chest, or hands

• Try to avoid unnecessary touching of your face for the first 24 hours after treatment.
